I don't know the name of it, but I remember being fascinated by it as a child. I like the natural almost-sepia tones and the black background. Could use a touch of sharpening, perhaps.
Babak Gh: thanks alot, and thanks for your point...
The common name of the plant is Honesty. Latin name Lunaria. No I'm not a plant expert!, but happen to know this one and just looked up the Latin name in my encyclopaedia. I like close cropped still life shots like this
Babak Gh: special thanks! I'm so happy of learning the name
A very nice start on SC and a hearty welcome goes out to you. I do agree with martin that the photo needs a little bit of sharpening, but nothing too drastic. The composition and overall quality is very, very good. Many kind regards, Neil.
Babak Gh: thanks for saying your idea, but I thinks the only reason of its low sharpening is the way that i was looking on this beautiful plant, maybe with a higher sharpening it could be better.
I like the light on these leaves. The different levels of brightness against the black background give it an 'otherworldly' feel. May be the depth of field could be deduced to throw more leaves out of focus, or increased to get all the leaves sharp. Different people will have other ideas, and that's whats nice about photography. What works for you, combined with different ideas to see if there are other ways to make the images different.
I like this as it is.
Babak Gh: its your kindness, thanks alot for your comment
